I’m just concerned why this is something people are celebrating. The government now has a financial interest in confiscating people’s bitcoin for suspected crimes.

They always had this incentive man, they hoard everything they confiscate even cocaine from the 80s 🤣.
Don't worry about others' viewpoints - worry about predicting outcomes.
The better you get at predicting the next move(s) of the state aparatus the more free you become.
Most Bitcoiners are flailing in the wind of news cycle chaos.
You don't have to, and that's what individual sovereignty is all about.
That’s true they could always do that. Maybe an overreaction but I fear that when Bitcoin pumps, they’ll want more of it because they have a reserve.
This is a little different. They take assets from criminals but civil asset forfeiture allows them to take assets from people suspected of crimes without a conviction. I know they already kinda did this but it’s a bad precedence.
Unfortunately, this has been happening for too long.
