Yes, you understand the context in part, and it's also a family reunion day.
But if you look a little deeper, you'll find that people who have long since passed away still have people left behind who still remember them in this world. The next generation hasn't forgotten them, and it's also made me not forget my roots.
I used to have an ancestor altar at home actually. now, I just have some photos of my grandparents around the house.
Looking even deeper, I see my grandparents in many of my actions and words. They stay here with us forever if we just take the time to see.
It's nice to see people doing similar.
