I haven’t found any of the trending algorithms very useful. They generally amplify notes that I’ve already seen through people reposting them multiple times and things like GM notes by “influencers” that may be “trending” because they get a lot of engagement but aren’t new or interesting content. While I don’t want a fully algorithmic feed I do want better mechanisms for discovering unique and interesting content, particularly from smaller accounts.

Yeah that’s one of the points being made. Instead of surfacing large nostr account notes, we should surface content that is globally relevant. Meaning we need more of it too.

Cool, thanks. What would be interesting is a Nostr Kind whereby someone on Nostr can share global news and get zapped for it, encouraging them to curate and format, as alternative to surfacing stuff from auto-generated bridged accounts. Would need strong agreement on formatting, as lot of nesting involved and some clients are already struggling with rendering some basic nesting in Kind1. But I think the curation-zap economy could be a thing.

Isn't that something which automatically will happen with AI? I imagine that there will be ai in the future on nostr which i can tell what trend i want to see and then i can say "10% more of this please" and "i want to see less of this" and so on.

The best thing is, there could be more than one algorithm feed on nostr and anyone can tweak any of them. So it's an evolution kind of process where different algos win by being useful and used, but also never stop evolving. This should be a "standard" in nostr clients.

Just go on those platforms then 🤷‍♂️ or design an app with AI algo stuff crammed into it, I won’t use it. I’m more interested in human interaction and the counter culture. Bring more people and interest you’ll be plagued with AI bot swarms before you know it.
