Ever flown over the arctic circle? There's towns up there, completely covered by snow. You just see the lumps of white and the spaces are streets. I don't think they've been inhabited for a very very long time.
i used to work @ a new power generation site hydro/1 lake @ 8,000ft elev. /blasted tunnel{hardrock mining} to lower lake @ 6,700ft or so/in winter sumx it would snow 20 to 30+ft per season/sierra nevadas, cali*\*ya
