In fact some truckers got XMR donated to them and—unlike bitcoin—they managed to keep it afterwards. To be fair I'm not saying Monero can't be confiscated, but it was a lot easier to take the bitcoin sitting on a transparent address.

It's also much easier to target the people who donated.
There is just no debating that the Bitcoin maxi led effort would have gone better for all involved if they had put slight effort into roping Monero in as an option.
But unfortunately Monero is sacrilegious. The toxic maxis can't have Monero looking too good.
The Truckers still have there btc. It was handed to them with a handshake.
