This 1000%!! Unfollow the things you don't want to see, block/mute words or phrases, and try out other clients! Most of all enjoy!! Follow or peruse hashtags of things you like being sure to add an -str to the end as people will use both (e.g. yarn and yarnstr). Engage with people on their notes and yours, there are real people here who like to chat back and forth.

I liberally and I might add, vigorously, applied the unfollow button and things have improved I must say.
