GN! If I have 100 customers 97 of them are female. But my few male customers have an extraordinary taste with no exception. Made this Signet Ring for one of them this week. It's made of Platinum. The advantage of platinum is that it's chewie. I couldn't find another word to describe it properly but just imagine that if you wear an silver ring 24/7 over decades the Ring will disappear. It's hard but the surface will go away you won't be able to read the signet anymore but Platinum will stay. The advantage to white gold is the color. White gold will always have kind of yellow fade and I think it's pretty stupid to take the only yellow precious metal and make it white. At the moment the gold price is so high that it doesn't matter if you take Platinum or White Gold the specific weight makes it equal. I love platinum although I prefer yellow gold. #platinum #diegoldschmiedin #signet #gold #handwerk image

It is interesting. The haptic is very special and the feeling if I'm working with it is different from gold. I need also special tools for platinum I have files for platinum and even saw blades which are for this metal. Metallurgy was one of my favorite classes in professionschool ๐Ÿ˜‚
My dad was a goldsmith, so I have very rudimentary knowledge concerning platinum. But I also remember him having special tools sets when working with platinum.
Then we have this in common My father is also a Goldsmith. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I love yellow gold. People think it's old fashioned but I love how it looks. What gold karat do you think is ideal for everyday wear?
If you can afford it I'm always for 18 ct Gold . If your budget is tighter you go well with 14 ct. But never go below. 375 and 333 is crap and should not be allowed that this is called gold. I sometimes work with 900/000 Gold and even finegold. That's compatible with everyday except as a ring. It depends of the form and your lifestyle if it's for everyday. ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ˜Š
