If that's so then it sounds like maybe we owe him a favor for choosing to go to therapy. What do you think about that? Should we ask him what he wants?

Actually plea deals are very common, even in murder trials. Should it be, do you think?
If you aren't interested in rewarding his choice to go to therapy, does that mean you would prefer he chose something else?
