Actually that’s the biggest issue with 51st state - land rights become a toss-up. The French land system went through this brutal upheaval way back with Acadians most negatively impacted.

all comes down to who has the power to be at the treaty negotiations. Crown is out. time for Aborigial brokers to sit down with the Fed (and/or tech mogels).
