Just communicating reality. I'm open to alternative perspectives. How do you think I should feel?
hey @sitting at an airport bar
I'm about to tell someone what to do
anyway
theres a lot to unpack here but basically,
i think you should be prepared for adversarial circumstances instead of saying "dishonest people fail"
they only fail if we have anticipated and are prepared.
assuming success guarantees failure.
they are NOT going to stop trying to steal the value created by the vast majority of the population just because Bitcoin exists.
I am personally ready. I'll keep them honest with my node, my weapons, my miner and my secure keys.
But I also understand that most people will not be like me, and for them, having access to money which cannot be inflated (even through a custodian or a government service) is a huge benefit to both me and them.
I'm just not sure what there is to be upset or worried about. Six months ago we were watching friends be threatened with jail time and businesses being forced to close. Would it really be better if the government continued to treat bitcoin like a tool for criminals which normal people shouldn't touch?
Almost as if they've never heard of paper gold
if the banks and other institutions adopt it they absolutely *will issue shitcoins they claim are backed by Bitcoin reserves.
and the people you're talking about will not care about the difference.
yall keep pretending they're just going to give up the ability to print money.
because something something Bitcoin

Now that the banks can hold bitcoin, they will run fractional reserves on those accounts and try to make it a cash flowing asset. It’s all that they know.

This is true but remember what I said? Bitcoin punishes the dishonest. I dare them to run fractional reserves. FAFO.
Who was being threatened will jail and what businesses
They ran of factional reserves on Monero. You know how that turned out?
Bitcoiners were starting to ridicule Monero for its subpar price performance, when basically any worthless shitcoin started to seem outperforming Monero throughout the fractional reserve era.
Monero is past that episode with all major exchanges having it delisted. Bitcoiners are not ready for what will happen, when a real outside the system money captures value, while Bitcoin gets fractionally reserved by the banks.
Enjoy your NGU tech with all the masses that never are supposed to make money by the system design.
