Why? because Drivechain?
But lightning is good only for custodial services and people like Fiatjaf and Paul would like to onboard people in a non custodial way. What do you think about what Lightspark is doing with L2 spark.info? Do you think it promises?
“Lightning is good only for custodial services”
It’s easy with custodial services, but lighting was designed for non-custodial.
“Fiatjaf and Paul would like to onboard people in a non-custodial way”
Fiatjaf just said people should use custodial cashu 🤷🏻♂️. I think he wants that but has taken doomer / motivated reasoning ideas from Paul too seriously.
“Spark”
Spark is statechains with extra steps. Federations are not worth much unless you’re a member, but then you’re faced with higher interactivity requirements than lightning. In the end, it’s back to custodial trust that can be bent against you.

I'm not technical but they said it needs trust only at the time of the transaction, and allows unilateral exit. I think if is true, is great no? And it's different than custodial, no?
terrible take dawg
I knew there was somrthing dishonest about this post. Guy's like this don't think they pick a side and just present things in as slanted a way as possible to make themselves seem righteous.
Be warned about this kind of person.
The reality is that gmax (love the guy but he is a redditor afterall) threatened multiple times to report Roger Ver to the IRS. So what Paul is speculating about is totally concrete and even initated by gmax.
