I think tokenized bitcoin (ecash) will have its place eventually. Scaling Bitcoin to 8 billion people requires it. Do we need it now? No Is it useful now? There's are some fringe usecases, but not many. I personally prefer the fedi model of ecash where the trust is placed in a federation rather than a single person/company.

Cashu is not dependent on Bitcoin in any way shape or form. It’s a shitcoin without a blockchain. Just another Bitcoin Charlatan and his grift.
Not when you know the mint coordinators & have a long history with them. If you pick some random federation then yeah same risk.
It's denominated in Bitcoin & involves a lot of trust. Same deal with any custodial lightning wallet, Bitcoin exchange or any service that requires pre payment. It's a lot of trust & I'd be careful about my exposure. I see no evidence of scamming, yet. I think it's pretty poor form to shout accusations without any evidence.
