GM peeps ☕️ Why do you still have a fiat job?
I feel stuck in fiat for a few reasons
I would love to hear your thoughts
- Need to pay rent in fiat (biggest monthly expense)
- Don't want to pay capital gains taxes for converting BTC > fiat
- Still learning how to pay for things in BTC (plane tickets?)
- Still have a strong hodlr mentality
- Don't believe I can make a full-time income in BTC *yet*
For the last point, I am so hopeful and excited about the income models that are emerging on Nostr for those who make a living from sharing their learnings online. But I feel stuck on YouTube to reach non-Bitcoiners and to keep paying my rent in fiat - somewhat of a catch 22.
Can you relate to this?
I feel low vibe emotions about the situation (guilt, hypocrisy, some frustration) because I do not want to keep contributing to the matrix or G👀gle
The guilt I feel also comes from knowing how important it is to embody the world I want to see. My not embodying a Bitcoin Standard is just delaying the manifestation of that world!!
The end game is also so clear to me! 🙌🏼 Bitcoin is the transition system to a world without money. I'm so excited about that! But I also still need to function in the 3D world right now - and pay rent each month! 🤌🏼 😅
I feel stuck in this cycle and I know it will only keep getting worse as fiat inflates to infinity. I am also aware that this is a journey, and I do not need to do it all at once 🙏🏼

It is exciting to see new business models emerge along Nostr and Bitcoin.
They say circular economies is the way, earning in BTC and spending in BTC, however bootstrapping that locally is still early early days and besides through bridges such as Bitrefill seems one of the few avenues to spend BTC on goods today.
Are Nostr markets like the one implemented in #Amethyst global or allow localization? Hopefully we can progressively cover a wide array of services and products.
