I suppose I should have asked you to clarify what you are respecting? The human being or the human being plus a belief system. What about ideology? You may learn that someone holds to an ideology that you oppose based on your own beliefs while at the same time know nothing about their behaviour. Certain behaviours are expressions of ideologies. Some people figure out that they do not want or need to see expressions of behaviour because the other person’s adopted ideology or belief system tells them what they need to know.

You are what you eat. You’ll know them by their fruit. I believe that behaviors are downstream of what you believe.
