Still digging, but similar to other similar situations in the past (ones that passed unfortunately, and ones that didn't), from increased block size, recursion, and ordinals/inscriptions, all of them felt like they were unnaturally pushed and are useless from the POV that Bitcoin should be used for transacting money only, and I'm having that same feeling again with that op_return size increase: there's no need.
