I tested this on OpenBoard and HeliBoard on Android (Grapheme). It happens on both English and Arabic keyboards at least, and no other apps.
Its hard to pin down all the keyboard pressing cases, but in the video below:
- type a word
- type space
- type another word
- type space
- press back space 3 times
Result: The first space gets deleted and the two words collapse on each other.
