For those who value historical affirmation from wise minds in the past on the corrupt ethics of states printing money, you'll enjoy reading Nicholas Oresme's "De Monetia" from the 14th century. It's pretty short. It reaches back even further to Aristotle, Cassiodorus, Solomon and Moses. It's referenced in Hülsmann's 2009 "Ethics of Money Production", which inspired the more recent book, "Thank God for Bitcoin".
