Those are some good points. I had a crisis in my life many years ago that nearly destroyed me (at that time I became a single father with a 5yr old, 3yr old, and a baby). It was at that point that I committed my life to serving others. It hasn't been easy, as I'm insecure and self-absorbed like most people, but all things good in my life came after that commitment.
Wow, your more special than at first presented. Yes, we learn through the furnace. I had a meaning crisis at 17, led to leaving home alone and years in a Zen temple. I awakened to a mysteriously wonderful life. The very nature of life is challenge, though to commit like a monk, a warrior and a lover yields immeasurable gifts. Make sure you keep good company, and if that does not include a mentor, be one.
