If its ornamental the roots wont be very good at all but both ornamental and the food kind have very tasty edible leaves
I second sweet potato! One of the fastest growing plants around especially in a heat wave. These aren't mine but it shows the leaf well:

I would think it’s from cuttings we tossed in when we were filling it up!
