cheaper than deepseek?
No, on openrouter there are a couple of providers offering DeepSeek R1 and V3 for stupidly low prices since they’re quantized and the tps is a bit lower. It’s pretty hard to beat how cheap open source models can get.
On the Aider Polyglot benchmark though Gemini 2.5 Pro is better for coding, so you are paying for better quality.

Anthropic does have some solid models. Claude 3.7 is a solid coding model and led on the benchmarks for a while.
