If all authority vanished overnight private police would be a massive need and priority. I just think the incentives would be aligned much better for everyone if police were private. But as is, stop surveillance. Stop parking enforcement and stop speeding enforcement. Put that substantial savings in personnel costs toward catching the most vile among us. And punishment for pedophiles should be increased an order of magnitude. It’s fucking crazy to me that society doesn’t root these predators out with extreme prejudice.
