What has the market decided, as far as I'm aware there's a tug, and pull for Bitcoin's future between Big Bitcoin, Fiat Maxis, and Cypherpunks, unfortunately the people who want to sabotage Bitcoin, and make it into XRP are winning right now.

The market/people have chosen, so Bitcoin won't fade into irrelevance. What might fade into irrelevance is a certain idea of Bitcoin.
