You don't fight the state by using its legal system that is eternally rugged against you. Yes, if every active Nostr npub would sign up 3 merchants per year that would be a signal nobody could ignore. It's also much cheaper than any funding of state lawyers. You need to extract as much energy and money from the system.

> You don't fight the state by using its legal system that is eternally rugged against you. I disagree completely. I am living, breathing proof that precedent can be forged using the altar of your own flesh. This sounds the exact same as the people that say “you can’t vote your way out of this.” And they are true in that statement, but it also serves a lie, because they tell people not to vote at all and while you cannot solely vote your way out of this situation, you also cannot get out of it without voting. Our enemies win because they fight consistently on every single battleground. They flood the courts with cases. They show up to the ballot boxes every election. And they wear masks and terrorize and murder people in the street. It takes all of this and more to capture a society. If we are not prepared to fight for liberty in every conceivable battleground, our enemies are willing to take the victories that we won’t show up for.
I agree that once you are caught in the battle (like you) it's indeed the honourable thing to fight it for all of us. It's a battle win. In general you want to starve the beast with as little touch points as possible. So if we align our strategy on that we would give far less resources to the state to make it especially hard to win some battles.
