This is a shift in humanity, more than just Canadians. It’s unfortunate that Canada is one of the countries leading the way, but more are on that same trajectory, I fear.

While I agree this is a global trend, Canadians have always had an identity crisis. Perhaps being a neighbor to the north of a "super power", it's been difficult to build a cohesive national identity. That said, Mexicans don't seem to have that issue. Canadians don't know who they are or what they *stand* for, so consequently the *fall* for almost anything.
