Negative ghost rider. A zap IS a lightning payment. They're the same thing. A receipt is only one part and not required. A zap is, I hit the lightning bolt on nostr and you get sats. You can agree to disagree but this is science. Happytavern didn't have receipts for the longest time but I had my lightning address there. (I wrote my own lnurl server to work with CLN) So for a couple months you mean to tell me all those sats I received from nostriches weren't zaps? I think they would disagree. I think they would say they were zapping me even though they didn't get a receipt. Anyways, I got zap receipts working on my implementation now. So in your words I can finally get zapped! If you run CLN and have a domain, I'll be updating the core-lnurl codebase to have zap receipts too. For now it's just stuffed into my website codebase. They're both open source on my github ๐Ÿ˜˜
Then it's not a Zap. We had Lightning payments in 2022 because Lightning addresses were on profiles. We didn't have Zaps, integration of Nostr into Lightning addresses, until approximately February 2023. This is like Stacker News and Orange Pill App saying Zaps for Lightning payment after @jb55 invented them because it's a cool and fun way to say it. It's an affinity scam.
Well if you die, then I'm the victor! ๐Ÿซ‚ Bitcoin existed before Satoshi. He just put all the pieces together and gave it a name! That's why it's a quasi "discovery" on top of an invention. I'm just rambling now...
rambling is one of my favorite pasttimes :) i have heard this argument about bitcoin existing beforehand, but i don't know if i fully am on board with that either. all of the tools existed, all of the puzzle pieces were there, but someone had to craft it into existence.
If I use someones nostr lightning address to fetch an invoice and pay it, is that a zap? Or is it only a zap if the LNURL server provides nostr support and receipts? Because in my mind if I make a successful lightning payment to a nostr user, that's a zap regardless of a receipt. But correct me if I'm wrong.
