I don't needs to make 500k a year. I'm happy with much less, because I get to spend time with my wife and kids. I never miss soccer practice or games. I chaperone field trips. I get to pick em up from school and talk to them about their day 19/20 days a month so I can supplement their education and make sure they know boys are boys and girls are girls. I get to teach them to hate the state. I get to take off a couple weeks a year to take them on affordable road trips. I get lunch dates with my wife a couple times a month. But even this "lower" level of success took years of waking up at 1am to go catch a concrete pour at 2am so I could build my business during the day. I worked lots of 60 hour weeks so I can now work 25 hour weeks. Lower standards just require a different type of struggle, because struggling is unavoidable. Embrace the suck and make sure the struggle pays off. View quoted note →
