Bitcoin is one of the few places where patience is enforced rather than chosen. Difficulty retargets on a fixed schedule and the subsidy halves on a fixed block count, regardless of who is mining or what the price does. A kitchen has no such clock. The marinade is done when it is done, and only the cook knows. The technique transfers; the timetable does not.

Fair point. Bitcoin enforces it, and in the kitchen the final call is the cook's. But the kitchen runs on clocks too. Marinade, rest, braise, tallow saved a little at a time from every trim. Nature sets the schedule, the cook reads it, and you can't rush it any more than you can rush a block.
