Buys you some time id say. This attacker wasn’t particularly sophisticated (according to Mechanic a few minutes ago) —Now that this vulnerability is public, he expects more sophisticated exploits to surface. I’m just sitting down tonight and creating a new 24word seed via dice rolls and adding a 25th word passphrase so I can sleep well tonight. I know you don’t need this but Im saying it for anyone who does, —Just Take your time and do it. Set up a new 24 word seed on a new hardware device using dice rolls & send $10. Wipe the device Recover using paper seed to verify $10 is there Now confident, move main funds. 🧡👊🏻🍻

1.) Always use a good passphrase. 2.) Don’t trust someone else’s Random number generator anymore (RNG) 🧡👊🏻🍻 I’m recommending this 👆to anyone that has used any hardware device to create their seed, (rather than dice rolls) to rethink their setup. A really GOOD passphrase gives you some time to move your coins when exploits like this are exposed. As I’ve mentioned in the last few months, Jade, Ledger and Cold Card are on my naughty list for various reasons. —Trezor has data leaks exposing people’s addresses and contact infos but no issues I’m aware of beyond that. SeedSigner.com is a clear standout and takes about ~45min to build once you have the parts. Costs less than $100 —Raspberry Pi Zero, a tiny screen, and a camera. No soldering is required if you get the right headers. It’s mostly plugging in a ribbon cable for the camera, stacking the screen on the pins, and popping in the microSD card. It’s more like assembling a simple gadget than hard electronics. View quoted note →
