real materials rather than this plastic and particle board crap. using your brain to plan and build rather than clicking together little doodads like an adult playing with legos. i appreciate that it is highly efficient and inexpensive and standardized (which is why i selectively use it)... but that comes with the usual tradeoffs you'd expect.
