For #bitaxe miners. My home's WiFi shutdowns at night for less EMF when we sleep. I am thinking of cycling bitaxe power off during that time by running its AC power on a timer. Do any nostr folk think this will damage the unit(s) in the long run with a daily external kill switch?
Will the miner reconnect automatically when power is restored?

I believe they do reconnect pretty easily, based on my experience. I'm not sure about the power cycling though.
Thanks for the reply!
Don't you have other location to leave it? Like an office with always on WiFi?
Trying to make use of my backup PV solar system on the property
I'm still learning but I think powering down by just killing the AC is ill-advised. It can potentially corrupt the chip. You'll usually be fine, but doing it every single day, your luck might eventually run out.
In regards to reconnection, that happens quickly and automatically upon reboot.
There are some routers that have a wifi off button but will let ethernet cable still work. No emf but miner works plugged in
Thanks but to my knowledge #bitaxe only have a WiFi interface. No physical Ethernet port
Yes that was why thought as well. Thanks for reassuring me of the risk.
Even if consuming full power 24/7 with 8 hours of those hours having no connection these machines are even more efficient than any counterpart in the low wattage category that include an Ethernet port
