I dont think that's true. Users are accustomed to depositing funds into custodial DNM wallets to make transactions. sometimes they do it straight from exchanges ๐Ÿ˜ซ if instead they could spin up a LN node that they ostensibly control immediately pay an invoice and destroy the node (or not, leave whatever is left in the channel for their next buy) i can see it being a useful payment mechanism with fairly good UX and privacy
