Hey doc! You moved to GA? Welcome! I've always used freetaxusa.com But there are many other tools too. If you don't have a lot of non standard deductions, just using a tool to file free is the best thing I think. It's a toss up. The more you spend on a tax return the more you might can save through deductions but does the amount saved count up to more than you spent? Plus the time... Also if you have a really diverse financial life, you might also want to pay a CPA.
Thanks! I should be there by the end on Feb or beginning of March. I'm going in as a contractor and I'll be filling the 1099 form. I really hate taxes, but especially having to learn how to pay them. I'll check out the website you recommended.
