I'm a big admirer of @jack , and I mostly agree with his take here. I agree that the electronic-cash narrative faded due to the prevalence of the digital-gold narrative. But I think the reason is that people have *more* need for a good store of value than need for trustless, private payments. Where there is no motivation, people will not used it. We have to keep on working on freedom tech and good payment options, because the way the world moves currently, sadly more and more people will be motivated or outright push towards bitcoin as payment system.
