Have you considered putting the miner outside? Hopefully your dryer is on the ground floor. Could build a simple box with sound dampened walls.

No, I hadn't considered that! I'm going to start by putting the miner in a cooler to see if that reduces the sound to a reasonable level. If that doesn't work I might try putting the miner outside, great idea!
