I think they live in cycles. When there is trust everywhere, some find that they can get rich fast by betraying the others. This then lowers the trust again until people see how little they can accomplish on their own and how expensive a live without trust actually is. I just hope the amplitudes of these cycles get smaller every time. Hart to measure this I assume. But it usually needs to get lower in amplitude, if we human would be able to learn stuff long term.
