When humans lived together in small groups, liars would be caught out and would suffer the subsequent lack of trust by the group. And so the incentive not to lie was strong. But in huge societies where the people being lied to have little recourse against the liar, there is little incentive not to use this tool to achieve whatever social end you are seeking. I can come to two conclusions (1) get out there and lie because it works (I hate this conclusion, I recoil from it), and (2) retreat from large communities (generally large online platforms) and center your life around smaller interactive groups of people (family, local shops, church if that is your thing, and small online groups like nostr).
