patriarchy is built on the delusion of power and dominance.
but in reality, we live in an interdependent world.
we are wired for connection—it is our lifeblood.
under patriarchy
you can either be connected and accommodating—quote-unquote "feminine"
or you can be powerful, assertive, and competent—quote-unquote "masculine"
but you can't be both at the same time because,
under patriarchy, power is power over, not power with.
when you step into power, you lose connection
and this is all over our society right now

so many of us, when we move into assertion, lose our softness, our love.
the skill we need is to stand up for ourselves, cherish our partners and be loving at the same time.
