I agree in person discussions are more fruitful, but on the other hand you and I would likely never cross paths in the real world to have a conversation. People are the problem, and Nostr will never solve that. Give it time and this too will devolve into "fk you", " no fk you, moron" slanging matches. And then we get rampant mental disorders from people being more online than touching grass. Being judged by an anonymous stranger can sometimes does more damage than being punched in the face. I try to avoid social media as much as I can.

well, mental disorders are mostly self inflicted to my view. if you're so weak that some twat's opinion on socials makes you that upset, then I don't know words are not violence. but real violence is likely coming to many countries. i fear most in the west are nowhere near equipped to deal with it. securing your bitcoin is one thing, defending it is going to be the key when no government or law enforcement can/will help

I knew I would get a reply like this. So your conclusion is that the majority of people are weak twats. That is an easy conclusion to shove the main reason for a lot if our social problems to the side. The world runs on mass trauma being regurgitated. Real violence is based in it. Real violence often is the result of mental disorders. In general I would state that advocating for violence is a mental disorder. So I would not dismiss it so easily. It is all related. I think comparing physical violence to mental violence is not a very useful discussion.

I've lived and worked in 3rd world countries for years. People who watched their families raped and murdered can claim trauma, although very few use it as an excuse.
