Said brotherhood started as a good thing but slowly got captured and enslaved like all revolutionary movements. The 1717 reorganization of Freemasonry claims they're the rightful descendants of the earlier operative Freemasonry that had built the beautiful structures of the Middle Ages. I wished more people would look into this and find out for themselves what's what. Today, the overwhelming majority of the members have no clue what they're part of. They literally can't read or understand the meaning of the ancient texts. Even this had become fucking fiat. Not to mention that between 30 and 33 degrees of the Scottish Rite there should only be impeccable men. None I've seen irl are behaving like one.
Hey, sounds like you're a mason. Cool. I'm not, but I pay attention. I've noticed the younger masons are also paying much more attention than the older ones, who seem to be satisfied with it only being a social club. There's a renewed interest in the meaning of the symbols, rituals and what-not. I'm happy that's changing. Anyways, the important thing is that they continue their great work. I'd totally want to learn how to actually build a cathedral, but that's not necessary for their purposes.
