And in a reply on X it was revealed that he was operating 2-3 other accounts to "support" his monetised account. The really shocking thing is that he (and several other people apparently) couldn't see anything wrong with that. I mean first of all, what a massive waste of time. But also, how could he not see how manipulative that is, and why that might actually warrant being demonetised? Saying that, I would prefer if people like that stayed on X rather than clutter up Nostr, but still...

Well if I have an account and I say "I'm Bill and this is what I think..." and then I make another account saying "Hi Bill, I'm Ben, I just want to say that you're so clever and so correct about all of this. You're amazing, and I say that as a totally separate human being who's never met you before"... then clearly that's manipulative, because someone reading those posts gets the impression of organic engagement which in fact doesn't exist.
