There is also an option to remove DMs from Twitter-like clients in favor of Chat clients (I am currently considering that). It all depends on how many people use DMs on primal.

- Primal mobile will add video support for zap.stream
Yes, we considered it too, but removing features - even if they are substandard like our current DMs - is tough on the users. We demoted them from the main tab to the side menu in mobile apps, but removing them would be too much imho. The correct move is to upgrade them and deprecate the old ones over time.
Agreed, most of them didn't pan out. If we want to be generous we can say they were aspirational, but directionally correct.
Yeah, I feel you. The issue is that NIP-17 adds significant work to keep it going. It doesn't make much sense to add it if people are not using it.

There are a lot of new projects working on "other stuff" that are not nearly as far along as Primal and Amethyst, and until those improve dramatically and the names of these projects move beyond obscurity, I doubt we see a any significant influx of new users. We have a few headliner X replacements, but I think we need "other stuff" to be in parity with you first.
