The problem IMO is that devs (especially FOSS ones) ship products with target audience *other developers* instead of users. That makes them quite detached from market realities unfortunately.

The reason Foss devs target is mostly other devs is because of a derth of devops engineers which allows app devs to focus on UX. This is partially because Foss devs don't typically take kindly to devops peoples advice because it is basically just pointing out tech debt, they already knew they had, publicly.
This is so true. And they give them stupid names like they are a 13 year old boy (which in all fairness, they might be).
