Because I did it today for the first time in a while to navigate some construction lanes on the interstate at high speed and it worked so well. 👍 such good control
Not always, when I perceive a situation where I need to be proactive my right hand is on the shifter

A great-uncle taught me to drive for the first time like this and, yes, it gives you more control when you're going at speed
I usually do 9 & 3 when I've got both hands on the wheel, though a lot of times I drive one handed.
