I don't understand, isn't this suicide for btc core?
I mean, btc has value because it's a monetary system. If it becomes simply a database isn't going to lose its value? And so btc core will also loose also since btc will become basically worthless.
Let's say core does not want to kill btc, what are they thinking? "we need money fees so if ppl pay for storing data on btc let's allow them because we need their fee at this moment in time were not enough ppl use btc as money to transact?"
Also, btc has recently entered a new phase (with institutions coming in and so many services/infrustructire built around/on it), how the fuck is possible to make such a dangerous change now where we need stability more than ever?

I don’t think Core wants to kill Bitcoin but, at the same time, I really cannot explain why they are acting this way.
