15 years ago, I set the American record (at least as far as YouTube records) for Mario Circuit 1 for the original Mario Kart.
This is one of my proudest achievements.

Btw world record suggests you should have basically taken more shortcuts?

The reason I canβt claim world record is because I believe there were different versions of the game (99% sure there was at least a Japanese version if not others, as well) and, based on my studies, there were shortcuts you could take on those other versions that you couldnβt take on the American version.
Interesting, TIL. (I knew there were different version, not that that actually affected the gameplay in any way.)
Iβm not 100% positive that the gameplay was affected but Iβve seen people do some wild stuff on the Japanese version that I never figured out how to do on the American version.
