Jesus fucking Christ, that article is such fucking TRASH. Unpacking this much horse shit is gonna take some work.
First off, most of it isn't even ABOUT the pets, it's just trying to rile you up about immigrants in other ways. A few anecdotal stories that may very well be true but are totally unrelated, e.g. crashes. It contributes NOTHING to the topic at hand.
Second, the Haitians are there LEGALLY, but that doesn't stop him from incessantly calling them illegals. That simple fact shows they have absolutely no journalistic integrity because it's fucking TRIVIAL to fact check it. Here's one of the half dozen articles I VERY easily found stating that the vast majority of Haitians are here quite legally: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/haitian-immigrants-fueled-springfields-growth-now-us-presidential-debate-2024-09-11/
Finally and most damning, HE HAS NO FUCKING PROOF. The best he can say is that people have heard stories from other people, but NO FIRST HAND ACCOUNTS. Meanwhile, they actually FOUND the lady who made some of the first posts starting the rumor.
So no, it really doesn't look like I'm wrong. But it does look like you should be embarrassed for trying to pass that off as journalism.
