This is my desk/painting table. On this I had the photo book of a friend in view, because it inspired me again and again. // I have manifested since a few days to leave Germany. The housing shortage is a mess and prices are skyrocketing , the greed of the landlords limitless, the politicians fail big time…I have decided to not go along with this anymore and …now it's nostrofficial..try to move to Costa Rica. I don't know if everything is better there, but I was a better version of myself. I will give away my household goods in the next few days and step by step detach myself from the old to discover the new. 🌞 πŸ€™πŸ½ image

I literally only have African masks and sculptures and some other functional(?) art (ie. decorated ceramic pots and little boxes/oriental big plates, arabic lamps etc). hmm let me think
The story behind has been told to me the artist is family as well but i have forgotten it completly i will ask her. Personally i do not know what to make of it i assume its about the pain of your own thoughts. I am for sure no art expert
I bolted an old bumper from my Chevelle on the wall. The breaker lights turn on. On this guys the gas tank is behind the plate, so I cut a box into the wall and I hide the remote controls to the TV and such behind the license plate. 🀷🏽 I also made those magnetic bottle openers on either side. And of course I have good old Ralph Steadman illustrating Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. image #artstr #carstr
I have a ton of my own art up everywhere. But I think I have much cooler stuff by other people. 🀷🏽 More so I like the arrangement here. This is a bunch of my old darkroom photography from highschool on one wall and childhood magazines I had on the other. In the darkroom we should always stick our developed pictures into the wall and squeegee them off. I always thought it was cool to just leave em there in a collage🀷🏽 image
Meet Tabitha. She's my battest bitch and she's pissed it wasn't sunny with to come out the coffin yesterday because we were going to sun our bones with Fredrick and Buster, my beetle and Coyote skull.
Ceramic... Yeah I would describe them as tiles. I dunno if that's how the artist meant it. S lot of the native stuff I have is hand fired ceramic
This is a traditional Hahoetal mask from the 12th century (Korean). There is a series of 12 masks. They're used in ritual dances/play. This one is of Yangban, he is the aristocrat and is usually being mocked in the play. The pipe is Chinese I believe? Was just a little addition from me lol Legend is something about a diety who told some dude to make masks in secret and so he hid away in his home doing the gods bidding. His girl gets fed up not seeing him for days so she secretly pokes a hole in his wall and spies on him. Since the rules were broken, the dude starts hemorrhaging blood and puking everywhere. The girl the dies of guilt and a broken heart. So the villagers then perform a dance as an exorcism thus elevating them so they can marry in the afterlife.
Though this isn’t necessarily my favorite piece from a finished artwork point of view, I love this drawing I made as a student because it keeps pushing me in new directions even years later. The first image is the original, the next image in the next note is a recent derivation from it. image

Thank you for sharing your story.
this was painted with my grandma as inspiration when she got the news she had breastcancer she sits on a chair of fire because of the the risks that news involved. When my grandma visited the art gallery this was hanging in she really liked this piece without knowing the story behind so she immediatly got it gifted to her. Now the artist is happy it is with me because she sitting straight up with courage and fire just like my grandma There is probally a lot i translated wrong but this solidified its place as my favorite now reason i forgot the story is probally that my mind was not listening to that at the time
