For as new and clunky as Nostr is, I still think Nostr follow counts are more reliable than X follower counts. Nostr may have its own kind of bot “problem”, but because Nostr is permissionless, there’s nothing stopping people from building ever better ways of measuring follower counts.

Rather than improved follower counts, I'd like a better list of people I regularly interact with. Anyone can follow me, it means nothing. I'd rather have a list of the people who are actively commenting, zapping, and reacting to what I post. That seems a lot more useful.
Heck it would be great if I follow someone and it actually worked the first time but I just remember; we’re still early.
That would be a good start. Even better would be a list of my community defined by the people I mutually interact with. In this scenario follow lists can be private, and follower lists can be left with the legacy social media. Influencers still need them to sell ad space in their feed 😂
