My hypothesis is that no amount of oral probiotics or superfoods like kefir or beebread can restore the microbiome once keystone bacteria and butyrate production have collapsed, and that something like a FMT or adjacent therapy (probiotic suppositories) is required to restablish the microbiome. One thing I know for sure, after that one time of taking a dump at a terribly peppery smelling pit toilet at a roadside rest, my poop never smelled the same again

Glad this is working for you. I suggested FMT to a relative who has lots of lower bowel issues and she found it so appalling that she rather suffer in pain. "My doctor never suggested this" (appeal to expert).

What health issues is this meant to address?
Fascinated to hear more about long term results and benefits. You’re spot on, there’s little to no help in modern medicine for this broad condition. I suspect the same cause as you for my system, decimated long ago by powerful meds. Thanks for doing this and sharing.
