The problem with the "Satoshi wanted x, Satoshi didn't want y, the white paper said z" temptation is the tendency to 1. cherry pick quotes 2. stick to extremely narrow interpretations of key word/phrases (like "cash" or "in stone") 3. assume we owe Satoshi some sort of zealous reverence.
